I was raised in Sedbury and have lived here all my life. I’ve seen our community harmed by cuts, outsourcing and general ignorance of local community needs. I want to give back to my community by protecting public services and helping those that depend on them, by protecting our Forest from Fracking, and by fighting for our entire community so that all their needs are met, rather than see them abandoned by failing private services and underfunded infrastructure.
As your county councillor I intend to give our leading edge of the Forest a breath of fresh air, pushing to make Sedbury the cutting edge of the Forest. I will represent Sedbury both in Gloucestershire and also across the border in Wales, attempting to sort out and clarify the mixture of services that affect us. I fully believe my youth, determination and principles will deliver this for our community, making a real impact for the people of Sedbury.
Building Ties For Youth
By working dynamically with parents, nurseries, primary schools, secondary schools and businesses, I will work to develop new opportunities for students between schools at a local level by increasing the amount of cross school activities, as well as secure quality job opportunities for young adults.
Invest In The Elderly Before It Is Too Late
With fears of a social care crisis looming on the horizon I want to provide a real voice for carers looking after the elderly. We will do this by creating a single Gloucestershire County Council run care service so that the elderly in your family receive more accountable and efficient care.
Building A Transport Network That Works For Everyone
Privately run bus services simply have not worked for Sedbury. We will set up a community-led transport body bringing public transport routes under public control. As well as this, I will attempt to clear up the pointlessly complex mess of bus routes between Wales and the Forest.
