My name is Graham Morgan. I was born in the Dilke Memorial Hospital. I am married to Julie with two grown-up sons and two grandsons. My father and grandfather were former Lightmoor & Eastern United Miners. I have lived all my life in Cinderford, where I have been proud to represent the people as a Town, District and County Councillor, with an active interest in all community affairs.
I believe a strong local voice, from someone who knows our area, is absolutely essential. I have bought this to Cinderford Regeneration, where with others, I have fought for investment to secure jobs and to protect a sense of place. If given this opportunity to represent you, I make no false promises, only that I will do my very best. One promise I can make is to carry out the wishes of the people of Cinderford and Ruspidge.
New Cinderford College Campus
The relocation of the Forest campus of Gloucestershire College to Cinderford will provide enormous opportunities for young people without having to travel. It will give us, here in the Forest, a College campus equal to those in Gloucester and Cheltenham.
Care For Our Elderly
The increase in our elderly population makes it vital that social services and health work more closely together. Bed blocking by elderly patients, unable to leave hospital due to the lack of social services support, is both economic madness and cruel.
A Strong Start For Every Child
Prevention is better than cure. Children’s safety and wellbeing must be a priority Early intervention is essential to prevent problems escalating. Labour would reverse the cuts to children centres and support schools so that parents and children receive the support when needed.
